About

George Roberts

I work at Oxford Brookes university. My staff page is here. I co-ordinate Brookes’ postgraduate certificate in teaching in higher education (the new staff course) and contribute substantially to Cranfield University’s version of the same. I have been involved in JISC projects for about seven years and was recently directing a large support project for the Institutional Innovation Programme. Put simply, I love teaching and I love the Internet – or anyway my vision of what these things might be and together represent. In this blog I explore teaching and the Internet and other – to me – related topics, primarily social, environmental and political, to do with education, economics and global justice. I try to understand why things are the way they are, to discover and share that understanding communally, and then to use that understanding as a guide to shared action, which may be developmental and/or ameliorative on community and personal levels.

I love my sons and their mother even more than teaching and the Internet.
